Why is film trendy?

I really hate the fact that film photography is so trendy. Oh hey look at me, yeah I have a film camera its so vintage. But wait I don't I develop my own negatives and I don't print my own photos in the darkroom. I just scan the negatives I get from Walmart. Thats lame and its not a reason to shoot in film. So don't do it, and if your going to do it please don't tell me how much better it is then digital.  With that being said here are two pics that I shot in film and develop by hand. The second one is sepia toned by hand. (oh by the way I don't really like film at all it's to expensive and it takes way to long)
